How to Check Your FASTag Status & Balance Online – Step-by-Step Guide 2025

How to Check Your FASTag Status & Balance: Step-by-Step Guide for 2025

If you drive regularly on Indian highways, you already know how vital FASTag is for smooth and cashless toll payments. Introduced by NHAI, FASTag ensures automatic toll deduction using RFID technology — but to avoid any hassle at toll plazas, it’s important to regularly check your FASTag balance and status.

Here’s a simple step-by-step guide on how to check your FASTag balance online, via app, SMS, or UPI in 2025.

 1. Check FASTag Balance via NHAI FASTag Portal

You can directly check your balance using the official NHAI FASTag portal.

Steps:

  1. Visit the official website – fastag.nhai.org.
  2. Log in using your registered mobile number or vehicle number.
  3. Your dashboard will show:
    • FASTag active/inactive status
    • Wallet balance
    • Linked bank account name

💡 Pro Tip: Keep at least ₹200 balance in your wallet to avoid transaction failures at tolls.

 2. Use the MyFASTag Mobile App

The MyFASTag app, developed by NHAI, allows users to easily check their balance and recharge.

Steps to follow:

  1. Download the MyFASTag app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  2. Log in using your registered mobile number.
  3. View your wallet balance, transaction history, and tag status.
  4. You can recharge directly using UPI apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, or Paytm.

📱 Tip: Enable notifications to receive low-balance alerts instantly.

 3. Check FASTag Balance via SMS Alerts

If your FASTag is linked to your bank account, you’ll receive automatic SMS updates.
You’ll get notifications for:

  • Toll deductions
  • Low balance alerts
  • Recharge confirmations

💬 Example:
“₹80 deducted for toll at NH48 Plaza. Remaining balance: ₹220.”

 4. Check Balance Through Bank FASTag Portals

Every bank that issues FASTags (like HDFC, ICICI, Axis, Paytm, Airtel Payments Bank, etc.) has a separate FASTag portal.

Steps:

  1. Visit your bank’s FASTag website.
  2. Log in using your vehicle number or registered mobile number.
  3. Check your current balance, transaction details, and status.

🧾 Example: ICICI FASTag Portal, HDFC FASTag.

 5. Check FASTag Balance via UPI Apps

UPI apps now let users check FASTag balances directly.

Steps:

  1. Open Google Pay, PhonePe, or Paytm.
  2. Go to “FASTag Services” or “Bill Payments.”
  3. Enter your vehicle registration number.
  4. Your linked FASTag balance appears on-screen.

💡 Note: Some UPI apps also show your recharge and toll history.

 6. FASTag Balance via Customer Care

If you can’t access the portal or app, simply call your FASTag issuer’s customer support.

  • NHAI FASTag Helpline: 1033
  • ICICI Bank FASTag: 1800 210 0104
  • HDFC FASTag: 1800 120 1243
  • Paytm FASTag: 1800 120 4210

You can ask for your balance or resolve any account issue in minutes.
