 MG Motor India has introduced the Comet EV Blackstorm Edition, elevating the brand's first electric vehicle with a distinctive design and enhanced features. Priced at ₹7.80 lakh (ex-showroom), this special edition is available through the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, which entails a battery rental fee of ₹2.50 per kilometer. 

Design and Features

The Comet EV Blackstorm Edition stands out with its all-black exterior, complemented by red accents on the bumper, side claddings, hood badging, wheels, and fog lamp surrounds. Inside, the cabin features leatherette seats with red 'Blackstorm' embroidery and contrasting red stitching, enhancing its sporty appeal. 

Powertrain and Performance

This edition retains the standard Comet EV's powertrain, equipped with a 17.3 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of 230 km on a single charge. The electric motor delivers 42 hp and 110 Nm of torque, ensuring efficient urban commuting. 

Interior Features

The Blackstorm Edition's interior includes a dual 10.25-inch screen setup, comprising a digital driver’s display and a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additional features encompass a multifunctional steering wheel, LED headlights, USB ports, electronically adjustable ORVMs, and a 4-speaker audio system. 

Pricing and Availability

The Comet EV Blackstorm Edition is priced at ₹7.80 lakh (ex-showroom), with the BaaS model adding a battery rental fee of ₹2.50 per kilometer. Bookings are open with a token amount of ₹11,000 at MG dealerships.
