In a letter to school education minister Dada Bhuse, Maharashtra minister and BJP leader Nitesh Rane expressed concerns that allowing examinees to wear burqas during the exams could make it difficult to detect the use of electronic devices or other methods of cheating.
In a letter to school education minister Dada Bhuse, Nitesh Rane stated that permitting female candidates to wear burqas in exam halls could lead to malpractices and pose security concerns. He emphasized that students appearing for the 10th and 12th board exams should not be allowed to wear burqas. Rane suggested that, if needed, female police officers or staff should be assigned to conduct checks. He highlighted the importance of ensuring these exams are conducted transparently, without any cheating or malpractices, as they are crucial for the students' future. He further noted that allowing burqas could make it challenging to detect the use of electronic devices or other cheating methods.
BJP leader Nitesh Rane warned that any untoward incident arising from allowing burqas could lead to social and law-and-order problems, impacting many students. Rane, the MLA from Kankavli, who holds the fisheries and ports development portfolios, mentioned that the school education ministry had not yet responded to his request, according to officials.
