UIDAI Aadhaar Update 2025: Now Update Your Address, Phone Number & More from Home

UIDAI Aadhaar Update 2025: Now Update Your Address, Phone Number & More from Home

UIDAI Introduces New System—No Need for Fake Documents or Visiting Aadhaar Centers

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has developed a new system that will make updating Aadhaar card details much easier for citizens. Soon, people will be able to update their biometrics, address, phone number, and even date of birth from the comfort of their homes—no need to visit Aadhaar centers anymore.

Documents Linked to New System

This new system will fetch address and other details from trusted sources such as:

  • Birth certificate

  • Matriculation certificate

  • Driving license

  • Passport

  • PAN

  • PDS database

  • MNREGA database

This will not only ease the Aadhaar update process but also reduce the use of fake documents.

QR Code-Based App to Manage Aadhaar

UIDAI is launching a new QR code-based mobile app that allows users to share their Masked Aadhaar or Full Aadhaar digitally and securely. The app ensures maximum user control over their data and allows sharing only with consent.

By November 2025, most Aadhaar-related services will be available via this app, including:

  • Submitting fingerprints and iris scans from home

  • Updating address and phone number

  • Correcting name or date of birth

Use Cases: Hotels, Trains, Property Registration

This app can be used for various purposes such as:

  • Hotel check-ins

  • Onboard identity verification in trains

  • Property registrations

UIDAI is working with state governments to enable Aadhaar verification in property transactions to reduce fraud. The app is also useful for sub-registrars and registrars.

Special Plan for Children’s Updates

UIDAI has started discussions with CBSE and other education boards to ensure biometric updates for children. Updates are mandatory between ages 5 to 7 and again 15 to 17.

A special plan is in place to complete biometric updates for:

  • 8 crore children (5–7 years)

  • 10 crore children (15–17 years)

Working with Non-Mandatory Aadhaar Users

UIDAI is also working with hotels, security agencies, and other non-mandatory Aadhaar users to increase the usage of Aadhaar for verification where necessary.
