If you have an account in Bank of Baroda (BOB) or any other bank, there’s great news: two major updates in BOB Rules for 2025!
Hyundai is reportedly working on an India-specific electric vehicle (EV) based on its recently unveiled Hyundai Inster micro SUV, which made its global debut at the 2024 Busan International Motor Show. Sources suggest the Inster-based EV could arrive in the Indian market within the next year, offering a premium yet compact electric option for urban commuters.
The Hyundai Inster is a fully electric micro-SUV that features futuristic styling, compact dimensions, and advanced EV technology. Built on the Hyundai Casper platform, the Inster caters primarily to urban drivers and small families. Globally, the Inster EV offers up to 355 km of range (WLTP) and comes with fast-charging capabilities.
While Hyundai hasn’t officially confirmed the launch of the Inster itself in India, multiple reports suggest that an EV based on the same platform—possibly with some localization for pricing and performance—will make its way to Indian showrooms.
Here’s what we can expect:
The India-spec EV is likely to feature:
A battery pack between 30-40 kWh
Range of 300-350 km (ARAI) on a full charge
DC fast charging support (0 to 80% in under 45 minutes)
Expected power output of around 70-80 bhp
Single electric motor with FWD setup
Smooth city performance with instant torque delivery
10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system
Hyundai Bluelink connected tech
Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
LED DRLs and projector headlamps
ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) in top trims
Expect bold styling with:
Parametric pixel LED lights
Squared wheel arches
Compact SUV body ideal for Indian roads
The Inster-based EV is expected to launch in the price range of ₹10 lakh to ₹14 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a potential rival to the Tata Punch EV, Citroën eC3, and MG Comet EV.
Hyundai currently offers the Kona Electric and the Ioniq 5 in India. The launch of an affordable EV based on the Inster will help Hyundai tap into the mass-market EV segment, where competition is heating up.
The company has already announced a ₹20,000 crore investment in India to ramp up EV manufacturing and infrastructure, making this Inster-based EV a strategic step forward.
While no official launch date is announced, industry experts believe the Hyundai Inster-based EV could be launched in late 2025 or early 2026. Test mules might be spotted on Indian roads soon as Hyundai begins local testing.
Hyundai's move to introduce an Inster-based EV in India shows its commitment to sustainable mobility and its intent to challenge Tata Motors' EV dominance. With a perfect blend of style, features, and practicality, this EV could be a game-changer in the sub-₹15 lakh electric segment.
