Zomato will be rebranded as 'Eternal'; the platform introduces a new logo and seeks to establish a lasting legacy beyond just food delivery.

New Delhi [India], February 6 (ANI): Zomato Ltd. announced on Thursday that its board has approved the company’s name change to Eternal Ltd., marking a major shift in its corporate identity.

Deepinder Goyal, CEO of Zomato, shared the news on his official social media handle on X, posting the formal announcement letter.

The decision, approved by the company's Board, marks Zomato's expansion beyond food delivery, with businesses such as Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure now playing a vital role in its future.

In a heartfelt message to shareholders, Goyal reflected on the company’s journey, recalling how Zomato, initially launched as Foodiebay in 2007, began as a basic website for uploading restaurant menus.

He shared how, over the years, the company overcame challenges to become India’s first tech startup to be listed on the BSE Sensex, a milestone he described as both a source of pride and a great responsibility.

“This journey has generated immense wealth—not only for me but also for our employees, institutional investors, and retail shareholders. However, I didn’t start Zomato to make money. I began it because I wanted to do something meaningful with my life,” Goyal remarked.

The decision to rename Zomato Ltd. to Eternal Ltd. reflects the company’s vision of creating a lasting institution that endures beyond its current leadership.

"We shape our institutions, and then they shape us," Goyal remarked, highlighting that Eternal is not just a name change, but a mission statement.

As Blinkit becomes a key growth driver alongside Zomato’s core food delivery business, the leadership believed it was the right time to rebrand and better reflect the company’s expanding portfolio.

"Working at Eternal will mean waking up every day knowing that our legacy is built through moments of self-doubt, recognizing our limitations, and constantly striving to be better than we were yesterday," he remarked.

Once shareholder approval is received, the company will transition its corporate website from zomato.com to eternal.com and change its stock ticker from ZOMATO to ETERNAL.

The new entity, Eternal Ltd., will encompass four key businesses: Zomato (food delivery), Blinkit (quick commerce), District (B2B logistics), and Hyperpure (restaurant supplies).

"A company experiences multiple founding moments, and I hope this change marks another significant step in our journey towards the future," Goyal concluded. (ANI)
