.

Mumbai: As the Maharashtra State Board exams draw near, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has announced that the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams will start 10 days ahead of the usual schedule.

The board has advanced the exam schedule to address multiple objectives, including ensuring timely results and facilitating a smooth start to the next academic year, informed MSBSHSE chairman Sharad Gosavi. The decision also aims to provide additional preparation time for students appearing for competitive entrance exams such as the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

In an interview with FPJ, Gosavi explained the reasoning behind the change, saying, "We are starting both exams earlier to provide HSC students with more time to prepare for competitive exams, ensuring they can compete on equal terms with students from non-state board curricula."

The revised schedule will also result in faster release of results, ensuring timely admissions for Class 11 students and those seeking higher education. Gosavi further explained, "This change allows us to conduct supplementary exams earlier, helping students who require a second attempt to resume their education without any delay."

The board chief also noted that schools statewide were consulted about the decision and given the opportunity to raise any objections. He stated that no objections were raised, allowing the change to be implemented smoothly.
