Subsidy Details:

The scheme provides subsidies based on the capacity of the solar system:

 Up to 2 kW Capacity: ₹30,000 per kW. Additional Capacity (2 to 3 kW): ₹18,000 per kW. Total Subsidy Cap: ₹78,000 for systems up to 3 kW.

These subsidies aim to make solar energy more accessible and affordable for households.

Application Process:

  1. Registration:

    • Visit the official PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana portal.
    • Select your state and electricity distribution company.
    • Enter your consumer number, mobile number, and email address.
    • Complete the registration process.
  2. Application:

    • Log in using your consumer number and mobile number.
    • Fill out the application form for rooftop solar installation.
    • Upload the necessary documents.
    • Submit the application for processing.
  3. Feasibility Approval:

    • The electricity distribution company (DISCOM) will assess the feasibility of installing a solar system at your location.
    • Upon approval, you can proceed with the installation.
  4. Installation:

    • Choose a registered vendor from the list provided by DISCOM.
    • Install the solar system as per the approved specifications.
  5. Net Metering and Commissioning:

    • Apply for a net meter to facilitate the export of surplus electricity to the grid.
    • After installation, DISCOM will inspect and commission the system.
  6. Subsidy Disbursement:

    • Submit your bank account details and a canceled cheque through the portal.
    • The subsidy amount will be credited to your account within 30 days.

- Proof of Identity: Aadhar card, voter ID card, passport, or driving license.- Proof of Address: Aadhar card (if the address is updated), electricity bill, ration card, or property tax receipt.- Electricity Bill: Latest copy to verify connection details and consumption.Roof Ownership Certificate: Property registration papers or a document from the local authority confirming ownership.
