PM Narendra Modi to Visit Mumbai Today: Here’s the Traffic Advisory

In preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, the Navi Mumbai traffic police have imposed major traffic restrictions in the Kharghar area. On Wednesday, January 15, the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple, an ISKCON initiative, located at Sector 23.

The inauguration ceremony is set for 5 pm, with a large crowd expected, including dignitaries, central and state government ministers, and political leaders.

To facilitate the movement of attendees and minimize congestion, specific traffic control measures will be in effect starting at 6 am on Wednesday. Commuters are urged to adhere to the traffic restrictions.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Tirupati Kakade, stated, "On January 15, several roads in Kharghar will be closed to traffic, and designated areas will have 'No Parking' zones. The traffic department has requested citizens to use alternative routes."

Kakade further clarified that police vehicles, ambulances, fire brigade vehicles, and those related to essential services will be exempt from these restrictions.

Here is the list of traffic advisories and restrictions in the city:

Entry Ban:

  • Both lanes of the road from Ove Gaon Police Chowki to J Kumar Circle will be restricted.
  • The road between Gate No. 1 and Gate No. 2 of the ISKCON temple will be closed to vehicles.
  • The road from Gurudwara Chowk to J. Kumar Circle via BD Somani School will be restricted.

Only VIP vehicles, police vehicles, emergency services, government vehicles, and those attending the event will be allowed entry. All other vehicles will not be permitted.

Alternate Routes:

  • Vehicles traveling from Prashant Corner to Ove Gaon Police Station and heading towards J Kumar Circle should take a left turn at Ove Gaon Chowk.
  • Commuters arriving from Gram Vikas Bhavan and planning to turn left at Green Heritage Chowk should continue straight to BD Somani School.
  • Vehicles coming from Ove Gaon Chowk to J Kumar Circle should take a right turn at Prashant Corner.
  • Commuters leaving Central Park Metro Station and heading towards Ove Gaon Police Station should turn right and proceed accordingly.

  • Vehicles traveling from Shilp Chowk to J Kumar Circle must first reach Green Heritage Chowk and then take the appropriate turn.

  • Vehicles coming from Ove Gaon Chowk towards Gurudwara should continue straight to Gram Vikas Bhavan Chowk and then take a left turn.

  • Traffic traveling from Gram Vikas Bhavan to Gurudwara should take a right turn at Ove Gaon Chowk.

  • Vehicles coming from Vinayak Sheth Chowk to BD Somani School should turn right at BD Somani School Chowk.

  • Vehicles departing from Bhagwati Green Building and heading towards Gram Vikas Bhavan via the ISKCON Temple should turn right at Delta Central and then again turn right at Bhagwati Green to reach Green Heritage Circle.

No Parking Zones:

  • From Hiranandani Bridge Junction to Utsav Chowk, then to Gram Vikas Bhavan, Gurudwara, and Ove Gaon Chowk.

  • From Ove Gaon Police Chowki to Ove Cricket Ground (Helipad), Corporate Central Park, Sector 29, to the event venue, Bhagwati Green Cut, and ISKCON Temple Gate No. 1.

  • From Gram Vikas Bhavan to Green Heritage and Central Park Metro Stations.

  • From J Kumar Circle to Green Heritage (both lanes).
